A 17-year-old form four student died as she procured an abortion at Mukuru slums, Nairobi.
The girl had traveled from Kisii to visit a relative but went to a local chemist where she bought tablets to procure the abortion. Police say she died in the process.
The chemist who sold her the tablets is being sought. Abortion is illegal but many resort to it for many reasons.
Meanwhile, a five-year-old boy drowned in a ground water reservoir in Mwiki area, Nairobi as he played with his friends.
The body of the boy was retrieved long after the incident had happened. This is the second incident to happen in the city in two days and police are urging caution among parents asking them to monitor the whereabouts of their children.
