20 students injured in fight over end term exams at Abrar High School in Eldoret

Twenty students at Abrar Boy’s high school in Uasin Gishu were injured during a fight at the school which has been shut down indefinitely.

The students in form one and two on one side differed with those in form three and four over whether to sit for end term examinations or not at the school which is a Muslim privately owned school

The chairman of the school board of management Mohammed Ali said the students did not destroy property but they engaged in a serious fight last night leading to injuries.

Anti-riot police were called in to stop the fight at the school as some students threatened to set it on fire.

While the students in the lower classes wanted to go ahead with the exams those in the upper classes advocated for a boycott of the exams.
