Over twenty primary school students from Gilgil escaped death narrowly after a Nissan matatu they were travelling in was involved in a road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
A canter rammed into the rear of a Nissan matatu carrying the students from Mirindu primary school near Kikopey center seriously injuring three of them.
According to Gilgil MCA Jane Ngugi, the students were on their way home after a school trip when the accident occurred a few meters from the center.
“The Canter hit the Nissan matatu from the rear throwing it off road and we are grateful that no fatality was reported,” she said.
Ngugi added that the injured were rushed to Gilgil sub-county hospital where majority of them were treated and discharged.
