Ancelotti Walking A Tight Rope

Real Madrid's trip to the Camp Nou on 22nd March could seal Carlo Ancelotti's fate at the club, but before that, the game against Levante could still pass judgement on 'Carletto' and his players.

Time is running out for the coach. Ancelotti himself knows that if Real Madrid had crashed out of the Champions League against Schalke, he would not be Los Blancos' first-team coach today.

"It's all down to results, that's football", said the former PSG boss. He knows that his job is on the line.

The squad still has the Italian's back, but both parties are fully aware that a club is only as strong as its weakest link, and right now that is its manager.

Florentino Pérez still thinks there is time to turn it all around, but they have to react immediately. Both the president and the rest of the board believe that bringing in a new coach at this stage in the season would have very little chance of success. They would only consider sacking him in the case of a complete disaster.

The Camp Nou is not an easy place to go and win, but the current board still have every faith in a manager and a squad that won 22 straight games earlier this season.
