Chelsea and Arsenal yesterday settled for a barren draw in the first leg of the Carabao Cup sem final.
The Gunners were beneficiaries of Chelsea’s poor finishing, with Cesc Fabregas and Andreas Christensen culprits with poorly headed efforts, while Arsenal keeper David Ospina saved well from Victor Moses and Alvaro Morata.
Arsenal’s best chance was blasted over the bar by Alexander Lacazette in the first half. The two sides will meet in the second leg at the Emirates Stadium on the 24th of this month with the winner facing either Manchester City or Bristol City in the final next month.
On Tuesday, Sergio Aguero scored a late goal as Manchester City took a 2-1 advantage over Bristol City in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi final.
