AUDIO: "Let's Talk As A Country", Gidi's Emotional Appeal To Kenyan Leaders

On Tuesday May 17, Gidi made an emotional appeal to Kenyan leaders, in government and the opposition, to dialogue and end the stalemate surrounding CORD's bid to remove IEBC commissioners  before the 2017 polls.

This comes hours after several CORD supporters were injured on Monday evening during the third wave of anti-IEBC demonstrations along University Way. CORD is pushing for the eviction of IEBC commissioners, claiming they're biased and shouldn't be allowed to oversee next year's elections.

"If we want changes in the electoral commission,it is only the Jubilee coalition who can bring the changes." Said Gidi. "It is only them who an do that since they have the numbers in parliament compared to the opposition. Only dialogue will solve all these hullabaloo and not demonstrations or the stern stand by the government." He added.

Gidi later took to his official Facebook page, where insisted on the importance of national dialogue in a bid to save the nation from any form of violence.

"My stand on this matter is that we don't need to wait until this country disintegrate further for us to talk.

President Uhuru Kenyatta should reach out to CORD and both sides rally their supporters towards an agreeable formula towards reforming IEBC.

We all agree that we need credible elections next year and confidence in those who will preside over the elections is paramount. LET'S TALK AS A COUNTRY"
