Nominated MPs Isaac Mwaura and Robert Mutemi have asked the government to ban witchcraft to combat the killing of people with albinism.
"We are at the final stages in the drafting of the bill to safeguard and protect people living with albinism," Mwaura said during a press conference at Parliament Buildings on Friday.
The MP, who is living with albinism, warned that gangs are crossing from Tanzania into Kenya to carry out abductions.
"Now that Tanzania has banned witchcraft they could be crossing over and executing albinos for superstitious reasons," Mwaura said.
“You can clearly see people in politics going for these concoctions. People will kill people with albinism in return for what they believe is this good fortune, and that is totally wrong."
Mutemi said the government was doing little to protect people with albinism and the disabled.
"The government must ensure that no Kenyan dies because of skin colour or locomotion challenges," the MP living with disability said.
