One of the people arrested over the murder of Monica Kimani is expected to be presented in court and cleared of his earlier planned charges. Brian Kasaine has been turned a witness in the case in which TV journalist Jacque Maribe and her fiancé Joseph Irungu are set to face murder charges.

Kasaine had been arrested on September 28 and detained in police custody as the probe into the murder was carried out. Maribe and Irungu are set to be charged on Monday.

Maribe is being detained at the Langata Women prisons while Irungu is at the Industrial Area prisons.

Meanwhile, police are looking for a gang that carjacked a Buruburu bound matatu and robbed passengers of their cash and valuables in an attack.

The bus had diverted from Jogoo Road towards Shauri Moyo to beat traffic flow when three of those on board turned out to be thugs. They ordered passengers to surrender their cash and valuables before they commandeered the bus into a dark alley where they abandoned it and escaped on foot.

No arrest has been made.
