Burial of 3 slain children blocked until postmortem is conducted

The three murdered children of  Kapsoya  aspiring MCA James Ratemo will be buried next week. This is to enable homicide experts conduct postmortems on the bodies at the Eldoret Moi Teaching and Referal hospital, to determine cause of death.

The family lawyer Charles Nyamweya said the postmortem will be conducted in the presence of family members adding that the fundraising date to offset the rising hospital bill will be communicated later.

Clifford (seven), Dan (five) and Glen (three) were reported missing on May 13, and their bodies discovered later in River Nzoia about a week later.

James Ratemo's family wanted to conduct the burial this Friday, but family lawyer Charles Nyamweya said they were yet to get clearance from the Uasin Gishu government for the burial ceremony at their home in Kapsoya.

The motive of the killings has not yet been determined but police are investigating of politics, a family feud or land dispute being behind the murder.

Enock Onsase, the children's uncle, was arrested as the suspect last seen with the children in Eldoret town.
