A church in the Congo is creating social media news after photos and a video of its congregants drinking beer to cast out demons emerged.

This is not the first time a church is coming under the spotlight, with members being instructed by pastors to do all manner of crazy things in search of redemption.

The church known as Louzolo Amour is giving its members alcohol because evil spirits have been tormenting them, healing their souls and bodies.

Church goers spoke to Africa News in a video where they demonstrate their bizarre ritual, explaining why they do it.
