Cotu officials skipped Kabete MP George Muchai's burial because of threats, national executive board member Boniface Kavuvi has said.
Kavuvi said they were informed that mourners would be incited against them during the burial in Kamulu on Friday.
"We were well aware of the plan. What would have happened to us after Labour CS Kazungu Kambi and MP Alice Nganga openly insinuated that we were behind the circumstances that led to the death of our brother Muchai?" he posed.
Kavuvi said Cotu will sue Kambi and the MPs who made remarks that implicated them.
"The police should arrest the MPs and let them record statements if they know much about the legislator's demise," he said.
Noting that Muchai's murder is still under investigation, Kavuvi said the allegations against the union are 'unprincipled.'
"These politicians should help the police with their investigations instead of blaming the union," he said.
Muchai had taken the union to court over alleged embezzlement of funds by top officials whom he claimed have several secret accounts.
"Let the police complete their investigations because this yapping by politicians is not helping much," Kavuvi told the star in Machakos on Friday.
Muchai and his three aides were shot in their car on Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi on Saturday.
One suspect was charged over the killing and four others arrested on Friday.
The suspect was remanded for 14 days to allow a further probe.
