The high Court has ordered suspended cabinet secretary of  Transport, Engineer Michael Kamau to appear before the Anti-Corruption court on Thursday to face charges of Abuse of Office.

Justice mumbi Ngugi said that due to time constraints, she was unable  to issue temporary orders  stopping his arrest and prosecution. The judge has directed Kamau to make appropriate bail and bond applications pending the high court ruling on the matter.

She however directed that the proceedings after the plea is taken be stayed, pending a ruling whether the case will proceed or not on the 9th June 2015.

I am in full agreement with you on this one. Property prices in Nairobi is beyond reach of the middle class. The morgages are virtually unaffordable. How can one an interest rate of 15-20%??. Banks have been given license to rob customers by the government. There need for urgent control of the market. What banks are not getting is that if they make their mortgage loans affordable, a lot of people will take on mortgages and the banks will still make their profits. Secondly the repayment period need to be looked at. 30 year repayment period will improve affordability. Unless this is done we run the risk of leaving the mortgage market to drug dealers and money launderers with normal working person completely cut out. Mashinani is the way to go or invest in kajiado or machakos.
