A form three student at Dagorreti High School in Nairobi has been arrested over murder after a fellow student he fought with died in hospital. The students had fought in school last week when the assailant hit and injured the deceased in the head.
The injured student was taken to hospital where he passed on yesterday. This prompted police who had been informed of the assault to take action and arrest him. He is expected to be arraigned today with murder charges.
Meanwhile, a suspected thug was last night shot dead by police in a botched robbery incident along Outering Road, Nairobi and a pistol found on him.
The suspect is said to have been in the company of three others and had been attacking and robbing pedestrians along Mumias Road junction when an alarm was raised. Police say the other accomplices managed to escape on foot.
The slain man was found with several stolen property as the body was moved to the mortuary.
