Nakuru East MP David Gikaria sleeping on jail floor amazes Kenyans

Kenyans on Twitter are buzzing about Nakuru East MP David Gikaria after photos surfaced online showing him in a sorry state.

David was arrested on Saturday after leading residents in erecting structures on land that is under dispute.

Some unsubstantiated media reports say that he might have also slapped a deputy sub-county police commander during the incident.

The MP was arrested and bundled into a police van and taken to Nakuru Central Police Station after the fracas.

It seems Gikaria sustained injuries during the commotion. Photos making rounds online show him sleeping on the floor in his . A video of the MP being comforted is below,

This is not the first time that Gikaria has had an issue that deals with disputed land. In January last year, he was charged with eight counts of fraud, relating to land.

The charges include forging land documents and grabbing parcels of land within Nakuru county, between August 28th and December 18th, 2007.
