EXCLUSIVE: Gidi opens up on how patanisho changed his life (VIDEO)

Gidi na Ghost Asubuhi, hosted by Gidi Ogidi and Ghost Mulee, is without a doubt the biggest breakfast show in the country.

Their content, humour and the way they engage their millions of listeners is unrivaled and that's just a tip of the iceberg. Another major contributing factor toward's the show's popularity is the Patanisho segment which serves as the icing on the cake.

The segment sees the two presenters reconcile and bring families together, especially those whose marriages have hit rock bottom.

Having done that for over a decade now, one lesson Gidi has learnt is to never take people's problems lightly since people go through a lot of issues in relationships.

Patanisho is a programme for mwananchi wa kawaida and let me tell you people go through a lot of problems, if you listen to people's problems you will be shocked.

For the last 10 years we have a patanisho everyday and it means we are going through a lot in this country. I never assume each and every problem I get on radio.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, Gidi says his greatest strength is listening to the problem, analyzing it before handling it and finally advising the conflicting couples. He adds that most of the time the root cause of such issues points to miscommunication between the two parties.

One lesson I have learnt is to never assume anyone's problem because it might look simple and after analyzing you will realize it is a recurring problem.

I listen, take my time, I advice then see the way forward because people are going through a lot. Imagine mtu amekuja amekwambia Gidi nisaidie hapa nimekosana na mke wangu jana ametoka kwa sababu niligonga jug aikaanguka, it is a laughing matter but very serious to them.

Gidi says the greatest reward for him is when the duo successfully reconcile couples and, it makes him even happier when some call or text later on with news that they reconciled and that they are now much happier together.

He says they were blew away when one happy listener offered to buy them a goat as a show of appreciation but they are yet to figure out the logistics which will see them celebrate with the Radio Jambo family.

People call us and even send messages after reconciliation and we feel happy. There was one person who even offered to buy mbuzi because we successfully reconciled them.

Hopefully the mbuzi will come na itachinjwa tukule.

When asked what he wants to be remembered for he says the fact that he is always his true self and that he is able to touch and change people's lives every single day.
