Four Police Officers Injured After Suspected Al-Shabaab militants attacked Garissa Police Post

Suspected Al-Shabaab militants attacked a police post in Garissa yesterday and injured at least four police officers.

The gang also stole a police car, guns and several ammunition as they drove away.

Police say before they attacked Hamey Police Post which is located near the Kenya-Somalia border they also destroyed communication masts in the area leaving locals with no communication.

This is the latest such incident to happen in the area in a series. No arrest has been made and efforts to recover the stolen Property are ongoing.

Meanwhile, police are holding a civilian firearm holder who shot dead his relative in an argument over land in Mwilki area, Nairobi.

The man and his cousin had argued over the land before a confrontation ensure that saw the armed man shoot and kill him.

He was later arrested over the issue and is expected in court today. Police say a number of licensed gun holders are misusing the weapons and want an audit be conducted on them.

In other news, police are investigating the cause of death of a woman whose body was found in her house in Southlands, Langata.

The woman had been missing before the body was found in the house four days later. The body had decomposed at the time it was discovered. The body was moved to the mortuary as investigators work on the incident.

It’s not clear what caused the death and the woman was alone at the time of the incident.
