The two international friendly matches pitting Kenya’s Harambee Stars against Uganda and DRC Congo have been moved from Kasarani Stadium to Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. The move has been necessitated by ongoing renovations at both Nyayo and Kasarani Stadiums.

The team was scheduled to camp at the Kasarani Stadium ahead of the two fixtures slated for Thursday and Sunday next week, but will, instead now camp in Machakos.

The Stanley Okumbi-coached side will take on Uganda on Thursday next week before playing DRC three days later. Tickets for the matches will be sold at the venue, on match day and will go for Sh100 for the terraces with the VIP seats being reserved at Sh300. Both matches will kick off at 3pm Kenyan time with gates opening at 11am.

Uganda and DRC Congo are expected in the country on Monday.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia have yet another reason to continue their winning start to the campaign after the club’s gaming partner Goma Lotto assured them of incentives with each victory. Yesterday the Goma Lotto representatives led by marketing director, Agnes Owaga presented the club with a cash bonus of Sh190,000 following Kogalo’s 3-1 opening day triumph over debutants Kariobangi Sharks.

“This is just a token of the motivation package we have for the team. We want the players to continue with this winning streak and mentality because that is the way the club and its partners can be successful,” remarked Owaga. While lauding the generous gesture, Gor coach Ze Maria said they were fully focused on winning titles, citing the pressure from the club board and the supporters as equally motivating factors. “At Gor, there is always pressure to win but when you get something from winning, you feel positive and we will continue working hard to ensure we are successful again this season,” said the coach.

Gor travel to Kisumu today and will host another debutante Zoo Kericho this weekend. Club chairman Ambrose Rachier as well as CEO Lodwick Aduda were present at the brief ceremony at the club’s Camp Toyoyo training base.
