I will not play populist politics because am not a flower girl - says MP Shollei

Uasin Gishu Woman Representative says she will not play populist politics in Uasin Gishu following accusations that she had been missing at most functions in the region since she was elected.

Shollei says she is not a flower girl to advertise herself all over so that she is seen.

Shollei said she would still not attend meetings where she had no clear purpose and end up being a waste of time. The MP says she will focus on issues affecting women, youth and the vulnerable in society.

Meanwhile,  Shollei wants the government to ensure all girls in schools get free sanitary towels so that they do not miss classes during the menstrual periods.

Shollei says many girls still miss classes because the distribution of the free sanitary towels is yet to be implemented. She says the problem had affected performance by girls in schools.
