Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on his former rivals Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp following Liverpool and Tottenham's incredible Champions League comebacks to reach the final.

The former Manchester United boss has even gone as far as to say he wants both men to win a trophy, as they prepare to go head to head in Madrid to win the biggest trophy in European football.

Mourinho was speaking this week as a guest pundit on BeIN Sports, as the world witnessed some of the finest European action of all time.

Giving his verdict on two quite remarkable comebacks, Mourinho was praising of his two former nemeses.

'I will be in trouble in the final because I like Mauricio and Jurgen very, very much and I think they both deserve to win a trophy!' said Mourinho.

Spurs came back from 3-0 down against an Ajax side which has dazzled Europe this season, while Liverpool pulled off the seemingly impossible task of beating Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield to progress with a 4-3 scoreline.

Reflecting on his own experience in the competition Mourinho, who won the Champions League with both Porto and Inter Milan, admitted it was a case of knowing your players.

'You have to read the battle, to read your soldiers and their qualities,' said the Portuguese.

'Football is to have fun but football is about winning.'

Tottenham and Liverpool will go head to head inside Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano stadium on Saturday, June 1.
