Kenyan man kills himself after posting suicide message on social media

Depression leading to suicide is becoming more and more prevalent in this modern world that we live in. The news streams in from daily with many getting shocked about how many who take their lives are looking for a way out. The right way? Probably not. But the easy way out.

A Kenyan man identified as Gerald Mwangi Ngima on Facebook has left many devastated by his death.

The photographer and actor, who is believed to be from Nyahururu, Ngano Village took to his Facebook account to announce or rather talk about his death.

In a tearjerking post he shared, Gerald Mwangi revealed that he had been through a lot and his time on earth was over. He urged those who knew him to bury him should his body be ever found.

"I think my time on this world is over. I have been through enough but am done. For those who know me well msikose kukam kunisika iwapo mwili wangu utapatikana."

He signed off by saying that he loved his friends but God loved him more.

"Niliwapenda nyoote lakini mungu akanipenda sana. R.I.P GERALD MWANGI NGIMA."

According to Mwangi's friends on Facebook, he was depressed and that night, he stayed online for over five hours maybe reading comments on his post.

Mwangi, who had more than 3,000 friends on Facebook was mocked, called names and even some of them volunteered to foot his burial expenses after he shared the disturbing message. Others even offered to show him the easiest way to die without informing the world.

The depressed photographer was found hanging dead having committed suicide less than 24 hours after he posted of his intention to take away his life.

Chege WA Kungu: So unfortunate that some of his friends mocked him, instead of helping the dude...

William Kamorre: I think its high time for us as Kenyans to take a bit seriously what people update on their walls. And also be careful how we respond or comment below. If somebody updates such a post, first thing to do is to call them. We have lost too many lives like this already, Lives that could have been saved. A simple call changes everything. #DepressionIsReal but #GodLovesYou
