KNEC has until the end of today to pay teachers and others who were involved in last year's national exams. KUPPET says if KNEC fails to do so, they'll lead their members to storm KNEC offices countrywide tomorrow.
Meanwhile, acting KNEC CEO Mercy Gathigia is urging the union to be patient until tomorrow as they finalize the paper work for the payment to be made.
In related news, teachers are disappointed with the new medical scheme negotiated by Teachers Service Commission. KUPPET says some of their members can’t access services in certain hospitals, some can’t access consultants and they are given generic drugs, among others.
They want TSC to do a thorough audit before awarding the tender for a medical cover come June when the current contract expires.
