KOT react to the 'suicidal' blue whale challenge that teenagers are playing

The blue whale challenge is an online social media game that encourages participants to cut themselves every day for 50 days and commit suicide at the end. The name Blue whale is believed to reference an act carried out by blue whales that purposely beach themselves causing them to die. It is not clear how the game came about or became available but it is believed to have originated in Russia.

Police worldwide are warning youth against playing it, saying it has led to the deaths of hundreds of young people.

A young boy from Kiambu is also alleged to have committed suicide after playing the game. This however remains unconfirmed by local police.
