It may all have been rumour, hearsay, bar banter, speculation or perhaps a club hint but the status of players on the move within and into the Kenyan Premier League can now all be confirmed following the close of the transfer window on Saturday.
Upcoming goalkeeper Joel Bataro is an AFC Leopards man, front runner Mungai Kiongera returns to KCB on loan, Rwanda hitman Kagere Medie and former Harambee Stars midfield enforcer Jerry Santos are at Gor Mahia while no nonsense Sofapaka defender George Owino has crossed over to Mathare United on loan.
It gets even more juicer. Unsettled one-time Harambee Stars and Gor Mahia jewel Patrick Oboya finds a new home at Tusker together with new teammate, little-known Stephen Owusu of Ghana and Humphrey Mieno, who now commands the highest transfer fee paid out this season at Sh500,000.
Ever green Charles Okwemba and in search of redemption Eric Masika are Ushuru compliant players while Sofapaka have Ugandan journeyman David Bagoole in their fold and Chemelil Sugar have lured Alloyce Mangi from Bandari and Collins Kisuya from Sofapaka.
Batoto ba Mungu have promoted three youngsters from their youth academy while Muhoroni have given a chance to four of their fledgling talent to test top flight football as both outfits bet big on recruiting from their youth development.
