Kenyans have in large numbers congratulated the newly appointed cabinet secretary for sports, hon. Richard Achesa after the son of mulembe managed to sign a number of Memoranda of understanding (MOU) on Sports exchange programs with Cuba.

Mr. Achesa was on his first ever official visit outside the country where he was accompanied by HE. president Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a social post, the Sports CS highlighted that the MOU includes;Sports exchange Programs in training of various sports disciplines with the president of Sports Physical Education and Recreation (Inder) of Cuba, Dr. Antonio Eduardo.

Earlier today ,in Havana Cuba ,I led the Kenyan Sports Ministry in signing of various Memoranda of understanding (MOU) on Sports exchange Programs in training of various sports disciplines with Dr.Antonio Eduardo President of National Institute of Sports Physical Education and Recreation (Inder) of Cuba .We are looking forward to a mutual sporting relationship with the Cuban government .

The kind of enthusiasm that greeted the news from Kenyans clearly explains why Cuba is best placed to take Kenyan sports industry to another level.

According to topendsports, Cuba's best sporting event is boxing, with the nation boasting a total of 67 Olympic medals (34 gold, 19 silver and 14 bronze) in the event, with athletics garnering 39 medals (10 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze).

The site also claims that Cuba is by far the most successful nation that has taken part in the summer Olympic.
