KWS ranger murder AP wife over love affair

An Administration Police officer in Bureti Sub County last night committed suicide by shooting herself in the head with an AK47 rifle after a dispute with her boyfriend.

Confirming the incident, Bureti Sub county administration police commandant (DAPC) Mr. Samson Gathuku said the officer named as Maureen Jebitok, 27, had been issued with the gun at 6.30 pm on Friday to go and guard the IEBC offices in Litein town.

Gathuku said he received information at around 9.30 pm that Jebitok had shot herself in the head in her living quarters as her boyfriend, Victor Kipchumba Rono, 27, who had visited her from Monday watched helplessly.

The DAPC said that from what he had so far gathered, Jebitok a quiet officer who always liked to be alone and who always kept to herself had apparently seen a message from another woman, suspected to be a teacher, in her boyfriend’s phone.

“The message appears to have disturbed her, a lot resulting to a long day dispute with Kipchumba who is a KWS ranger attached to Naromuru,” Gathuku said.

He said the suspect Victor Kipchumba Rono was, however, arrested and taken to Litein police station and was assisting the police with investigations.
