Lawyer Simon Lilan who was embroiled in a case seeking to block the burial of former nominated Mark Too has gone missing for the last three days. His family, led by brother John Tallam, and his wife Irene said the lawyer was last seen on Monday at about 11am in Eldoret town after which his phones went off.

He has claimed that his life was in danger and that he had received threatening calls from unknown people asking him to stop pushing for independent investigations into the death of Mark Too.

Tallam says Lilan who has said he wants to vie for the Senate seat in Uasin Gishu was to go for a meeting at Ziwa on Monday which is the same day Too was buried after a court lifted orders stopping the event.

Tallam says they have already reported to the police that Lilan had been missing.

"We have looked for him all over including at the homes of his relatives but he can't be traced", said Tallam.

Lilan had claimed that Too may have been killed because of his wealth and politics. He obtained the order demanding an independent probe into Too's death. Lilan had also demanded that Too be buried at the home of his first wife, Mary.

He has threatened to push for the exhumation of Too's body so that the probe is carried out.
