M-pesa attendant nursing gun shot wounds after gunmen attacked and robbed him of Sh600,000

An Mpesa attendant is nursing gun shot wounds in hospital after he was shot by gunmen in Gikomba and robbed of more than Sh600,000.

The attendant was closing his business last evening when a gang struck and demanded cash. This created commotion that saw him shot once in the stomach. The gang grabbed the cash and escaped on foot.

Police say no arrest has been made so far but a hunt on them is ongoing. Police suspect the gang had prior information on the cash movements.

Meanwhile, police are looking for two gangs that attacked two matatus in separate incidents and robbed passengers and crew of their cash and valuables in Nairobi.

The first matatu was attacked along Mombasa Road after it had picked up passengers at Taj Mall while headed for the CBD. Some of the passengers turned out to be thugs and commandeered the bus into a dark alley before joining Outering and later to Babadogo where the passengers were robbed of cash, clothes and mobile phones plus other valuables.

Another bus was attacked along Landhies Road and the crew robbed of their valuables and cash. No arrest has been made so far.
