Makueni police are asking for the public’s help in searching for a man captured assaulting his wife in Kya-aka village in Muvau location.

The video circulating on the internet is showing the young woman being slammed to the ground and kicked.

The area chief Adrew Kisenge said the man followed the 33- year old to the grazing field and started attacking her.

He accused the woman, who is his first wife of infidelity.

The video was recorded by people believed to have responded to her call for help.

A man is heard demanding the suspect to stop the beating while the voice of another lady is heard pleading with the attacker to spare his wife.

However, the suspect is seen shouting back to them and threatening to slit the woman’s throat.

Makueni police county commander Joseph Napeiyan said the incident happened on Monday.

“We are appealing to members of the public to share his contacts to help us trace him,” he told The Star in an interview.

He added: “We treat the incident as an assault punishable by under the law, we will charge him once we make the arrest,”.

He said the victim will record statements with the police after treatment.
