Man killed over Sh200 alcohol bill

Police in Kinangop Nyandarua county are seeking a group of youths who beat their colleague to death after a drinking spree. The group was on a drinking spree in Engineer Township when they differed over a bill of Sh200 resulting to the fight.

A resident Phoebe Wanjiru said the group had sold potatoes in a nearby market and decided to have a drink in one of the local joints when the incident happened. She said that some of them had cleared their bills while some failed when an argument ensued resulting to the ugly incident.

''They drunk and danced and when the time to pay the bills came, some of them refused and on being forced to do so a fight begun resulting to the fatality,'' she said.

Engineer OCPD Samson Munyao confirmed the death saying they were seeking for the group that fled after the incident. ''We have launched a manhunt for the boys who were with the deceased at the time as part of our investigations,'' he said. He added that the body had picked and taken to the Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial.
