Man Murders Brother, Neighbor Over Domestic Dispute

Residents of Tegat village in Olenguruone at the border of Nakuru and Narok Counties are mourning an incident where a man aged 28 killed his elder brother and a neighbor on Monday after a domestic dispute.

A man identified as Benard Korir is said to have cut his elder brother Gilbert Korir after a short dispute and also slashed a neighbor named Boaz Kerepei who wanted to separate them while battling.

Gilbert graduated early this year from Kenya National Youth Service Training.

Enock Korir a brother to the deceased said his brother had indulged in drug abuse and after a small argument resolved to murder his brother.

“My brother was under influence of drugs and after a short domestic dispute chose to commit the incident” he said.

The suspect who committed the incident escaped and police with the rowdy residents said to have pursued him.

According to a family member, the two victims were rushed to Tenwek Mission hospital in Bomet County where Korir died on the way while Kerepei died while he was undergoing treatment.

A neighbor said that death related to drug abuse have increased in the region and urged the agents of security to team up and end drug abuse.

“The police station is far in this region and it has contributed to the rise of drug abuse in the region that has sent many to the grave this year” she said.
