President uhuru kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have said mediators are not welcome in the country.

While addressing residents of Kenol town in Murang'a town, the duo said Nasa leader Raila Odinga is seeking shortcuts to get a coalition government.

They reiterated that there will not be any power sharing deal in the country and that Kenyans will make the decision on who to lead the country on October 26.

President Uhuru said that the country is guided by the constitutions which has provisions on how anyone can lead the country.

He said Kenyans are not interested in mediation and are ready to go to the ballot to choose their President.

The president it is Raila who went to court to force a re-run then backed out of the race days before the polls.

"They thought we would reject the Supreme Court's ruling which would in turn cause conflict and give him grounds to ask for a coalition government," President Uhuru said.

He noted that he however respected the court's decision and immediately embarked on countrywide campaigns.

The President said since they stopped celebrating the supreme court's ruling, they only issue press statements and organise press briefings while doing no campaigns.

His actions, he said, clearly indicate that he is not interested in the elections which is why he has been raising numerous issues and organising protests.

"Now he has run off to the West begging for arbitration, saying he wants to bring peace un the country yet he is the one causing unrest," he said.

"Raila should come back into the country and do his campaigns because the elections will have to happen," the president added.

The country, he noted, does not need Koffi Annan and he is not welcome in the country this time round.

He said the only people with the power of deciding who will rule over the country are voters.

"Raila and his team thought they had set up a trap for us but it has backfired," he told the cheering crowd.

He lauded Murang'a residents for overwhelmingly supporting the jubilee party and voting for its candidates, and urged them to ensure participate in the repeat polls.

Ruto on his part said local politics are not based on people or regions and that the country cannot be held hostage by one person.

It is impossible for Raila to decide that there will be no elections on behalf of 45 million Kenyans.

"He is just daydreaming. Anyone who thinks that the elections will not be held because he is not ready must have mental issues," Ruto said.

He emphasized that there will be no coalition government regardless of how many capitals Raila visits.

"Raila should know that regardless of what he does, there will not be a coalition government in this country," he added.

The two were accompanied by local leaders led by governor Mwangi wa Iria who said they will ensure that there will be 100 percent voters turn out in the county.
