Aden Range Marwa has been shortlisted among the referees who will be on duty to officiate the 2018 FIFA World cup in Russia.

This news has been received with a lot of joy by football enthusiasts.

Marwa has served as a FIFA referee from 2011, and was named as a reserve official at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and an assistant referee at the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup.

President Uhuru Kenyatta reacted to the news.

He tweeted, "Congratulations to @TheOfficialKPL Assistant Refereee Aden Marwa Range on your selection to to officiate at the 2018 @FIFAWorldCup in Russia. Well done Mwalimu. @Nmwendwa @AMB_A_Mohammed @TSCKenya."

The sports cabinet secretary added, "Congratulations to KPL's Assistant Referee Aden Marwa Range for being selected to Officiate at the 2018 @FIFAWorldCup in Russia. Hongera. We Celebrate You. @MakeItKenya
