Francis Mukuria Kinyanjui aka the ambulance is the matatu driver of the Rongai matatu that caused an accident along Langata road killing five people and causing multiple injuries.
Francis Mukuria a.k.a ‘Ambulance’ surrendered himself to the police after he was informed officers were looking for him.
Mukuria is accused of causing death by dangerous driving following last Sunday’s accident along Langata Road. He has been in hiding since, and his employer had until Friday next week to produce him or face prosecution.

Francis was today Monday October 2nd charged before a Kibera court with 5 counts of causing death, driving without a licence,an alternative charge of failing to carry a driving license and also driving an unroadworthy vehicle. He was also charged with failing to report an accident.
He was also charged with several other counts of causing injuries to passengers
Prosecution has objected his release on bond saying that the accused flee from scene of accident for over 8 days. They further said that for his own safety he should not be released since the case has attracted outrage from citizens who might harm him. They also claimed that most victims of the accident are still in hospital.
Students from institution last week demonstrated along Magadi road over the rising number of accidents.
They engaged police in running battles, paralyzing transport along Langata and Magadi roads.
