Three Members of the National Assembly from Meru have officially decamped to Jubilee Party and vowed to campaign for the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

Kinoti Gatobu of Buuri who was an independent candidate, Kubai Kiringo (Igembe Central) and Mpuru Aburi (Tigania East) both of ODM party officially announced their decision to cross over during the launch of Jubilee Party celebrations held at Kaaga on Saturday.

Also officially received to the Jubilee Party by county secretary general Alhaji Mwendia were former ODM county secretary Gladys Kinya who had vied for the Imenti Central seat in 2013 and Steve Ringera ODM County chairman who had vied for Buuri parliamentary seat in the same year.

According to Kiringo, having been elected on an ODM ticket had disadvantaged him because his opinion was rarely heard.

“I was in ODM and after feeling the cold I decided to come back home. We will work with the President to ensure Jubilee wins in Meru and nationally”, he said.

Aburi who has been chanting anti Raila and ODM slogans in public meetings said “I will stand with Uhuru at all times and I announce this without fear that I have moved from ODM”.

Kinoti said despite having been elected as an independent candidate his constituents have reaped benefits of Jubilee Government among them tarmacking of 50 kilometers of road and construction of a mega dam reasons which he will join Jubilee Party and work with Uhuru.

Further, North Imenti MP Rahim Dawood called upon those willing to leave Jubilee Party to do so early but those who decide to stick with the party even after the nominations are assured of bagging plump government postings.

The launch of Jubilee Party in Meru which was attended by Uhuru who is the party leader was the first conducted outside Nairobi.
