MIRACLE: Celebrations As a One-And-A-Half Year Old Toddler Rescued At The Huruma Collapsed Building

There were celebrations at the Huruma collapsed building site early this morning after rescuers rescued a one and half year old girl alive from the debris, four days after the incident happened.

The child was found emaciated on the first floor of the building as the rescue team removed the debris and rushed to hospital. Officials say the child is now being stabilized as she had run out of energy.

The death toll from the scene stands at 23 and so far 136 have been rescued. Rescuers say they intend to clear the debris today.

Meanwhile, five people are expected in court today to face charges of manslaughter over the Huruma collapsed building. The five include officials from National Construction Authority, City Hall’s inspectorate department, an engineer in charge of the site and the two brothers who own the house. The house collapsed on Friday night trapping dozens of people. It has since emerged the house neither had a building plan nor was it approved.
