Muslim Preachers and Imams have insisted that they are opposed to amendments to the sexual offences act to reduce the consensual age to have sex from 18 to 16 years.
Chairman of the preachers and imams in Rift Valley Abubakar Bini said the National Assembly should instead seek to increase the age to 22.
Bini said the changes will lead to unwanted pregnancies and cause many young girls to drop out of schools and colleges.
