A man was charge in a Nairobi court on Tuesday with assaulting his wife over cheating allegations.
Twenty-seven year old Joseph Nzioki was accused of pouring acid on Julia Nduku and injuring her on May 10 this year in Makadara Estate, Nairobi.
The prosecution said that he came home at 2000h and quarreled with Nduku as he accused her of cheating on him.
The court heard that Nzioki went out after eating supper with his wife and returned later with the acid which he splashed on Nduku's face, thighs and abdomen before running away.
Nduku was taken to hospital by neighbours who responded to her screams as Nzioki was arrested at his rural home after the matter was reported to the police.
Nzioki denied the carges before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Emilly Ominde and was released on a KES 10 000 bail or KES 20 000 bond.
The case will be heard on November 16.
