Nairobi Man Sets Himself On Fire Over Family Issues

A man committed suicide in his bedroom after an argument with his family in Jericho area, Nairobi. The man aged 38 had argued with some of his family members over unknown issues before he locked himself in his bedroom and set himself on fire.

His burnt body was found on his bed. Police say they were called and informed of the incident long after it had happened. The body was moved to the mortuary.

Meanwhile, a man was lynched by a mob in a botched robbery incident in Nairobi’s Ruai area. The man is said to have tried to rob a rider of his motorcycle when an alarm was raised alerting the public.

A mob chased and stoned him to death. Such cases are on the rise amid police calls to stop them. Police say those involved in mob lynching as liable for prosecution with murder and want suspects to be surrendered to them for processing to court.

In other news, a man has jumped from fourth floor of a building in Buruburu, Nairobi and died as he tried to escape from police. Police were raiding the house for recoveries of stolen property when the suspect jumped off. He landed on his back and died on the spot.

Police say they recovered electric materials from the house valued at millions of shillings. Officers from Mlolongo area had been pursuing a case of stealing and vandalism of Kenya Power cables when they were led to the house. The body was moved to the mortuary.
