Peter Owere
A Member of the County Assembly in Nairobi has been arrested after violence broke out in a meeting he had convened in Huruma area, that left one person dead and several others wounded.
Huruma MCA Peter Owere alongside three others are expected in court this morning to face various charges.
He had apparently organized a meeting in the area that was disrupted by his rival leading to violence and chaos. One person was stabbed to death while others were left nursing injuries.
A week ago, another man was killed after a fight broke out during clashes between supporters of Member of parliament Tom Kajwang and Nominated Senator, Elizabeth Ongoro in Mathare area.
Police have urged those planning meetings to always seek their security.
