Ngilu charged with obstructing EACC officials

Suspended land cabinet secretary Charity Ngilu and seven Senior officials have finally taken a plea in a case where she is facing a charge of Obstructing investigations.

Ngilu pleaded not guilty after the court rejected her application to be charged separately on grounds that the accusations against her and the others are interrelated.

According to the Charge sheet, Ngilu is said to hindered EACC detectives from collecting evidence on fraudulent transactions for a piece of  land in Karen,by instructing ministry officials not to release documents or record statements with the EACC. The case will be mentioned on 13th July. Ngilu is out on a Cash bail of 1million.
