A senior police officer is among those killed by attackers at the Kapenguria Police Station.
West Pokot County Commissioner Wilson Wanyanga has confirmed that at least 4 police officers have been killed and a fight is till going on between the attackers and others security officers.
The number of attackers is yet to be officially confirmed.
Earlier we reported that five police officers are feared dead after suspected terrorists attacked Kapenguria police station in west Pokot.
Gunfire is still being heard at the station where reinforcement from the GSU have been sent to help fight the attackers.
Senior police officers leading a security operation at the station said a suspected member of the Al Shabaab had been arrested and locked up at the police station, but he snatched a gun from an officer at 5 am and begun shooting.
Police suspect that the Alshaabab who was arrested planned his rescue from the cell with the aid of other alshabaab militants.
