Five schools were suspended from the ongoing Nyanza Regional Secondary School Schools term two games after fielding ineligible players.
Homa Bay OCPD Esau Ochorokodi said on Wednesday that five students were arrested then later released on bond for impersonation.
He also said team coaches were directed to record statements with police, but only one had shown up by 5pm.
"We are waiting for the other coaches to make their statements for further action," the police boss said.
Schools suspended from the games were Ligisa Soccer Boys, Gesero Soccer Boys, Olembo Volley Boys, Ringa Volley Boys and Mogonga Volley Boys.
