Only Two MPs, Four MCAs Managed To Secure Jubilee Party Tickets In Murang'a

Only two MPs and four MCAs have managed to clinch the jubilee party ticket in Murang’a county.

Kandara MP Alice Wahome managed to get a total of 21, 175 votes against former area MP Maina Kamanda who only managed to garner 18, 406.

Murang’a women representative Sabina Chege garnered 211,639 votes beating Waithera Muitherania who got 99,728 votes.

The two former radio personalities appear to have a soft spot amongst locals and managed to push Catherine Mama Sacco Wanjiku, a former teacher, to a distant third.

Mathioya MP Clement Wambugu lost the ticket to Peter Kimari who got 21, 356 votes against his 6,719.

Wambugu has been an MP for two terms and was seeking to defend his seat for the third term.

In Kangema, incumbent MP Tirus Ngahu clinched the third position with 5,418 votes as lawyer Muturi Kigano got 8,530 votes while the second position was taken by former MCA and leader of Majority in the county assembly peter Kihungi with 6,542.

Gatanga MP Humphrey Njuguna was also trounced by Joseph Nduati who scored 21, 542, defeating him with 1,439 votes after he got 21,542 votes.

On the same note, only Kahumbu MCA Eric Kamande, Muruka MCA Peter Murigi, Gaturi MCA Rosemary Wakuthii and Wangu MCA Isaac Kamote managed to get the party ticket amongst the 35 MCAs.

The jubilee nominations were expected to largely determine the leaders who will lead the county for the next five years.
