More than 1,300 bars and entertainment joints in Eldoret will be vetted and inspected afresh before being allowed to operate as from next month.
Uasin Gishu County Secretary Peter Lelei and County Commissioner Abdi Hassan said majority of the bars in the region do not meet required conditions and standards.
Hassan said they have already impounded illicit alcohol from some of the bars operating illegally.
