gained revenge for their French League Cup exit at the hands of Guingamp as they thrashed the Ligue 1 strugglers 9-0 at the Parc des Princes.

Just 10 days after being knocked out of the Coupe de la Ligue by the top flight's bottom club, ending a sequence of 20 matches unbeaten in all domestic cup competitions for the capital side, Thomas Tuchel's men exacted revenge with a ruthless display of attacking football.

and  both grabbed hat-tricks, while  scored twice and Thomas Meunier provided the final strike in the 83rd minute to extend PSG's lead at the top of the table to 13 points, with two games in hand on second place Lille.

Neymar opened the scoring after just 11 minutes, showing good composure to bring down Dani Alves' diagonal ball before lifting it over a defender and slotting the ball beyond Marc-Aurele Caillard.

The Brazilian attacker was at the heart of the second, too, exchanging passes with Mbappe and teeing up the French teenager to fire into the far corner from the left-hand side of the penalty box.

Mbappe added a third before the break, capitalising on some poor defending, before Cavani added his first just before the hour mark.

The Uruguayan nodded home his second and PSG's sixth, before Mbappe returned the favour to Neymar by setting up the former Barcelona man for No 6.

Cavani completed his hat-trick when bundling home after the keeper had tipped the ball into his path, while Mbappe did likewise in the 80th minute, after he was found by the No 9 in the area.

The Belgian Meunier fired home the ninth seven minutes from time - the first time the French champions have ever scored that many in any league fixture in their history.
