Elijah Manangoi was yesterday named Athletics Kenya male athlete of the year during AK Gala awards ceremony.
Manangoi had an amazing season this year in the Diamond League and capped it with a Gold in the World Athletics Championship. He was also named middle distance male athlete of the year.
Hellen Obiri was named Female athlete of the year as well as long distance Female athlete of the year. Obiri won the Diamond League as well as Gold in the World athletics championship.
Faith Chepngetich was named as middle distance female athlete of the year while Conseslus Kipruto was named as long distance male athlete of the year.
Geoffrey Kirui and Edna Kiplagat were named as road running male and female athlete of the year respectively.
