PHOTOS: Glitz and glamor at the mashemeji derby

As days go by, the state of Kenya's football keeps on improving with more and more Kenyans now embracing the idea of attending matches rather than watching at the comfort of their homes.

On Sunday, the biggest derby in Eastern and central Africa pitying Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards popularly known as 'Mashemeji Derby' went down at the Kasarani stadium.

The match attracted thousands of passionate fans drawn from each sides in an enthralling match which was also attended by the who is who both in the football and political world, including the legendary, Joe Kadenge.

Gor Mahia continued with their dominant over AFC Leopards as they beat them 2-1. Jacques Tuyisenge opened the scoring for Kogallo in the first half with Wyvonne Isuza restoring parity at the stroke of half time with a beautiful bicycle kick.

George Odhiambo scored Gor Mahia's winning goal after the break as they extended their lead at the top of the league table to twelve with three games in hand.

Leopards remain in fifth place in the league table with thirty six points.
