PHOTOS: Glitz and glamour as Michael Olunga claims top prize at KPL awards gala

It was glitz and glamour as Michael Olunga claimed the coveted Kenya Premier League most valuable player of the year award, at the annual KPL awards gala on Wednesday.

Gor Mahia dominated the winners list with four club players grabbing various gongs.

Olunga was sensational for Gor Mahia finding the back of the net nineteen times in the league as they won the title unbeaten. His coach Frank Nuttal was named coach of the year while another Gor Mahia player Karim Nizigiyimana was named defender of the year.

The midfielder of the year award went to Eric Johanna of Mathare United with Gor Mahia goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch getting the Golden Gloves award. Other winners included John Baraza who was named fair play player of the year, George Mandela New Young player of the year while Western Stima was honored as the fair play team of the year.
