PHOTOS: Rooney And Everton Squad Arrive In Tanzania Ahead Of Gor Mahia Clash

Tanzania Minister for Information, Culture and Sport, Dr Harrison Mwakyembe welcomed Wayne Rooney and his Everton team mates at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Tanzania Wednesday morning, ahead of their much anticipated friendly against Kenya's Gor Mahia FC.

Legendary Rooney, who rejoined his boyhood club this summer after spending thirteen years at Manchester United, was all smiles as he touched down in the East African nation for the very first time.

Other notable faces from the Marseyside-based club were, Morgan Schneiderlin, Leighton Baines and Congolese player Yannick Bolasie who received a thunderous welcome from fans who had traveled all the way from Congo to witness the historic Sportpesa-sponsored showpiece.

Rooney is set to make his debut for Everton when they lock horns with Gor Mahia on Thursday afternoon at the Tanzanian national stadium which accommodates a total of 60,000 fans.
