KDF personnel yesterday detected and detonated an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) that had been set against them by the al Shabaab terrorist gang along the Milimani — Baure supply route, Lamu County.
The officials were driving along the route when their security systems detected the IED, which they exploded safely. No one was injured.
Milimani — Baure route passes through the Ndondori National Reserve and Kiangwe Forest, a section where al Shabaab terror gang has been trying to dominate as a terror launch pad without success.
The incident comes a week after nine officers and a civilian were killed in the same area in an IED explosion.
